Background

Corrinne began teaching in Cardiff High School, then when she relocated to London, Corrinne joined the newly opened Chelsea Academy.

Role with Harris Federation

During her four years at Chelsea Academy, Corrine gained Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) status, worked as a Lead Practitioner and led KS5 Mathematics. Corrinne then applied for the role of mathematics consultant and is really enjoying the variation and challenge that the position has brought her so far.  Her role involves working with ALG and subject co-ordinators across academies to target improvement in mathematics, through staff development, coaching, observations and training.

Key achievements

Corrinne has found it very rewarding to support new staff in adjusting to their role and with a brand new curriculum.   Seeing staff develop their practice and enjoy their lessons is very gratifying and ultimately results in a better experience for the students.

Harris facilitator

Corrinne is involved in putting together the Schools Direct Training for KS3. This involves breaking down the elements of the new curriculum and creating a strategy to ensure that staff feel empowered and able to deliver on the pivotal concepts. Corrinne also works across the Harris Federation and the London Thames Maths Hub to promote, develop and disseminate the KS3 curriculum.
