Harris National Award SENCo Programme 2018-19
The Harris National Award SENCo Programme is a one-year programme which is delivered jointly with Serco and nasen.
Serco provide the national award for SEN Coordination following completion of three masters level modules, each of which is worth 20 credits.
The three modules are:
- Module One: Orientation and Perspectives on SEN and Inclusive Practice (20 credits)
- Module Two: Evidence Based Practice and Inclusion (20 credits)
- Module Three: Whole School Development: Enabling Inclusion (20 credits)
Each Serco module is assessed at the end with a 3000 word assignment.
The programme is delivered completely online. Each module starts with a WebEx (online conferencing) session.
nasen provide five face to face training days across the year.
Face to face learning is designed to enhance the knowledge and understanding from the online learning. The sessions are bespoke. They link to the Serco online content.
Participants completing the online qualification drive the delivery of the face to face sessions by feeding back to nasen the content they would like covered during the face to face session.
All face to face sessions are delivered at one of our academies.
Harris National Award SENCo Programme Participants can also bring other academy colleagues to the afternoon session of the face to face training days at a small additional cost. These will each have a specific focus e.g. ADHD, SLCN, SEMH, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia.
The total cost for the programme is £1,500.
