Background

David started his teaching career in a mixed comprehensive school in West London. During that time, he managed all key stages in the Maths department, eventually leading the department itself.

Role with Harris Federation

In David's current role as Federation Maths Consultant, he works across several Harris Academies, with a diverse intake of students at all key stages. The main focus of his teaching is key stage 4 and 5, working with targeted small groups, preparing them for their exams. David also works with subject leads, looking at strategies to overcome challenges and raise standards in maths.

Key achievements

A key personal achievement for David has been  helping to secure the opportunity to pilot the new ‘Level 3 Core Maths qualification’, and also leading the team of staff who deliver it in the Academies.

Harris facilitator

David delivers Post 16 training across the Harris Federation and also trains staff  to deliver the new pilot Core Maths qualification. Helping to drive up standards and equipping staff with the necessary skills to deliver outstanding lessons, are some of the aspects of training that David most enjoys.
