Sharie Omoragbon
Teaching School Director

Background

Before joining the Harris Federation, Sharie worked for the National College for School Leadership (now the National College for Teaching and Leadership) project-managing two high-profile school improvement strategies. The first involved working with a group of consultant headteachers to deliver the London Leadership Strategy, providing school-to-school support and professional development to London secondary schools. Later, Sharie joined the Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE) team  where she was tasked with developing an effective recruitment process for Teaching Schools to follow nationally, ensuring the target to recruit the first 1,000 SLEs was achieved.

Inspirational quote: ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.’ John Quincy Adams

Role with Harris Federation

In 2012, Sharie joined the Harris Federation as Teaching School Manager to develop the Federation’s Teaching School offer, build an Alliance and create a framework for the Leadership Curriculum training programmes.

In 2012, Sharie took on the role of Teaching School Director and currently oversees the Teaching School offer for the two Harris Federation Teaching Schools. The designated Academies work together to deliver a joint offer with the other schools and Academies that make up the Alliance.

Key achievements

Sharie is good at generating new ideas and  has identified different ways to ensure that the Teaching School offer is robust and of high quality. Working closely with  the first intake of National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) participants and facilitators, she was able to evaluate the quality of the provision and use evidence gathered to create a robust framework which has been implemented consistently across the Leadership Curriculum.
